Nanny in Toronto

I am a high-energy, charismatic, well-educated, and friendly female with a well-rounded history of successful care giving for children ages 0-17. Not only do I possess experience as a full and part-time sitter, but in my roles as swimming instructor, lifeguard, and summer camp coordinator I have gained invaluable experience as a caregiver that sets me apart from your average sitter or nanny. I am currently located in Toronto, Ontario and am looking to gain employment as a full or part-time caregiver and am willing to begin employment in December 2012. I look forward to further discussing employment opportunities with you! I am a high energy, extremely organized, kind, understanding, empathetic, and well-educated caregiver. Despite only being 27, I have extensive experience providing care for children 0-17 years of age as a full and part-time sitter, swimming instructor, lifeguard and camp coordinator. I LOVE working with children and have a real passion for providing fun, safe, educational environments for wee ones of all ages! I have worked as a full/part-time sitter since 2000 and have provided in home childcare for elementary school aged children from ages 3-12 as a one-on-one sitter and in group environments with up to 3 children at one time. Responsibilities in this role have included meal prep, bathing, housekeeping/laundry, transportation of children to recreational/extracurricular activities, interacting and playing with children in safe/responsible activities in indoor and outdoor environments, and tutoring. As a swimming instructor and lifeguard, I was employed from 2001-2009 and interacted with children ages 0-17 and provided both private, semi-private, group, and parent-tot instruction. In this role I became well-versed and experienced with a variety of disabilities and special needs including epilepsy, severe allergies, hearing loss, Tourettes, Autism, Aspergers syndrome, Downs syndrome, OCD, and ADD/ADHD. I also became Red Cross certified in first aid, CPR, and AED. My responsibility in these roles included providing a safe aquatic learning environment, providing direct supervision of children in an aquatic facility, the design and delivery of aquatic based learning activities, and providing minor first aid care. As a camp coordinator, I have been employed since 2009 at a university-accredited overnight summer camp and interact with children ages 10-17. As with my role as a swimming instructor and lifeguard, I have gained experience with a variety of disabilities and special needs including epilepsy, severe allergies, hearing loss, Tourettes, Autism, Aspergers syndrome, Downs syndrome, OCD, and ADD/ADHD. In addition, I have maintained my Red Cross certification in first aid, CPR, and AED. My relevant responsibilities as camp coordinator include providing a safe and secure learning environment, design and delivery of curriculum in an interactive, hands-on learning environment; liaising with food services to design kid friendly, nutritional menu options; design and delivery of extracurricular activities, and actively providing peer-mentoring and conflict resolution.
