I am a caring and responsible 29 year old who loves children. Latin American, so I have many nieces and nephews whom I have taken care of and are very happy around me. Fluent in English and Spanish. I have up to date CPR and First Aid training as well. I am a Photographer by profession, and have worked photographing children and their families in the past. I am very imaginative (great for playtime!), love reading and strongly believe in spending quality time with children to develop their skills. My hobbies include sewing and knitting, which means I\'m great at playing dress up and fixing little snags and rips on their favourite clothes. I also enjoy teaching and I\'m very patient with little hands. I love studying and homework, and would love to help with any kind of schoolwork. I cook and help with kids\' laundry as well. I am a semi-vegetarian (I eat fish) but know how to prepare meat dishes and have no problem cooking them for other people. I also am very health-conscious and know tons of healthy recipes and healthy substitutions to make meals healthier and tasty. I am currently nannying part time on a split shift (early AM, and afterschool) so I am available from 10 to around 2 and some evenings after 6 30. Though it wasn't formal, so I wasn't paid, I would take care of them after school while their parents were at work. I cared for my nephew from ages 1 to around 3. and I also cared for my niece and nephew who are 3 years apart (ages 3 and 6 right now.) My duties included feeding them, playtime, changing diapers, putting down for naps, reading, etc. I also have experience with children as I worked for over a year in 2 portrait studios specializing in children's photography. While the time with each child is short, it is a high stress environment where children tend to act up and just generally be tired or in a bad mood. I find ways to defuse temper tantrums and don't find myself overwhelmed with their moods.
