Hi there! My names Kristin and I am 23 years old. I\\\'m single, a non-smoker, and very responsible. I have spent the last 3 years working as a Child Care Worker in a group home for kids with behavioural and mental disabilities. I have tons of experience providing child care and have been watching friends and families kids since I was the age of 11 (I know.. decades ago). I absolutely adore children! I am energetic and very healthy, so I definitely can keep up with fast paced, energetic children. I am also very creative and can find fun and exciting things to keep your kids busy and off video games! I have just resigned from as a Child Care Worker in a group home, which I did for three years. In the group home, I worked with 6-7 children from ages 7-18. Most of the children I worked with had behavioural issues and/or mental disabilities. They ranged from ADHA and FASD to schizophrenia to bipolar disorder. I worked shift work, therefore my shifts would range from working 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, or 11pm-7am. My shifts were never \\\"typical\\\" and would be different day to day. My job is to help the children in the group home live their lives as normally as possible and assist them in everyday activities. This would include bringing them to and from school (and staying in their classrooms), helping them with homework, doing their laundry, cooking them dinner, helping them find activities to do, signing them up for extra curricular activities, help them with their personal hygiene, assist them in completing chores, arrange play dates, help them learn new skills (cooking, baking, sports, etc.), teach them proper social skills (how to interact with strangers, dinner manners, how to use the phone, etc), and lots more. You could say I was a substitute parent while they lived in our home. I want to become a Nanny/Au Pair because I really do love children. I also believe I posses all the skills/requirements that would make a great Nanny/Au Pair. I have lots of experience working with children, and I feel that I would never get bored of it. Children are so fun and refreshing, and they liven up your day. I would love to be a part of being able to mold a child and assist them in growing up. I also love to clean and cook. Taking care of people is one of my favourite things to do. I would love to work with a great family! It would be great to be accepted into the family and not feel like I am imposing. I would also ideally love my own quarters in the house. I do like my alone time when I am not working, so I would ideally like my own place to call mine. I would also like to know that I can speak my concerns/opinions with the parents and feel that I can come to them about anything and speak openly. I would hope to have a live-in position and have a decent wage. That is negotiable though. I am willing to relocate to pretty much anywhere. I would love to travel and see more of the world. I am a very caring, passionate, organized, energetic, health conscious individual. I love to make new relationships and explore new things. Even though I can be a very easy-going, when it comes to important matters I know when to be serious. I am very adaptable to different situations, whether negative or positive. I am very hard working, loyal and complete all my tasks with integrity. I have a police/criminal check, my first-aid and CPR, and am also trained in TCI restraint training. I have also been to numerous workshops about non-violent crisis intervention. I am not very good at making profiles.. haha.. but if I do seem like a candidate you would be looking for, I\\\'d love to discuss further! I am open to any questions/concerns and would be happy to chat! Thank you for taking the time to read my profile! At the current moment, I have been regularly babysitting for over 5 families. I have two younger brothers and when I was younger, my mother returned to university full time. I was only 11, but I had to take on a lot of the household duties and help out a lot with my brothers. I had to learn how to cook and clean at a young age.
