Hi there! My name is Chelsea Miller, and I am just in the midst of completing my second year at McMaster University. I am working towards a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, and loving every minute of it! As you read my profile you can see that although I am only 20 years of age, I have an abundance of experience and credibility working with children of all ages and needs. Also, through my nursing program I have all the required credentials so that you can feel confident of your children\'s safety. All my employment opportunities have involved kids! I started volunteering at the YMCA for children\\\'s programming and summer camp for children 18 months-14 years. My duties were to plan and supervise various activities in the gymnasium, to assist the counselors with supervision and to help them carry out their daily plans. Once I was of the hire-able age, I worked again at the YMCA Camp in the summer and as a Children\\\'s Program Instructor for children 18 months-14 years, throughout my high school years. Being a staff member added the responsibility of planning all games and crafts, and being able to lead the participants in these activities. I then moved to the summer Camp Counselor position, and worked as a Children\\\'s Programming staff during the school year, which i still do currently. As I gained experience I was able to be a fill in Head Counselor, as well as taking on the challenge of being the sole instructor of Scrap-booking Camp. Lastly during University we are given community placements to attend during the school year. I chose Pride Stables, a therapeutic horseback riding facility for persons with disabilities. My duties were to prep the horse, and ensure the riders safety and enjoyment by being able to adapt to their specific needs. In addition to that, I have successfully babysat for many families and friends.
