Hi, potential family matches!

Nanny in Halifax

Hi, potential family matches! Over my years of child care experience, I've strengthened and focused in on my beliefs and philosophies about it, and my research has helped immensely in this regard to back me up as well. I believe that children learn and thrive in small groups of multi aged children in a loving, affectionate, more relaxed and less rushed schedule environment, allowing for both spontaneous and planned activities, as well as unstructured play and exploration. Learning happens all the time, we don't need to constantly create structured, time limited activities in order for children to learn optimally. This is not to say I don't believe in planning activities at all, of course. I absolutely see the value in them. However, I've found most parents/guardians want a handful of simple things - for their child(ren) to be safe, fed, and loved. Stimulation and learning can happen while doing anything. I also chose this career path because, when I have children, and I hope that time is coming soon, they can be with me, so I may practice natural and attachment parenting as I want to strive for, ideally. In addition, I want to provide as similar loving care as possible to your children as you would if you could. I'm extremely open minded and empathetic. My immediate goal is to open a family day home and take in up to six children. I'm even considering a night care model, for parents who work hours outside of day shift. My ultimate goal is to open a family resource centre focused on natural birth and attachment parenting; a place for parents/guardians to go to share with each other; stories, support, and even trade care for one another's children. Somewhere for their children to spend some time if parents/guardians need to go somewhere for a little while in the day that bringing (a) child(ren) to would be boring and even stressful for the little ones, i.e. doctor appointment, laundromat, etc. Looking forward to hearing from you! I've been watching children from the time I was a young teenager, beginning with assisting my mother and then babysitting on my own when I was sixteen. Over the years, I've continued to mind children on a part time basis while working in a call centre in my hometown of Sydney, until I moved here in 2009 to obtain my Early Childhood Education diploma, which I completed in 2011. I've had practicums and work experience in several large group child care centres. Over the years I've interacted with children from the ages of three months to school age. This involved full care, feeding, activities, outings, diapers, toilet learning and clean up. It's helped me focus in on my philosophies and beliefs, which align with natural and attachment parenting; smaller groups and a loving, affectionate, more relaxed and less rushed schedule environment, allowing for both spontaneous and planned activities, as well as unstructured play and exploration. I'm currently working in technical support.
