Nanny in Chelsea

Hi, My name is Kira and I absolutely love to work with children, to me there is nothing more rewarding! I am a soon to be graduate of the Early Childhood Education Program at Heritage College this June. Ever since being a child myself, I have enjoyed working with children and caring for others. This was seen in the imaginative play that I would be engaged in, like running \"an orphanage\" for years with dolls as my children. I very much enjoy the arts and think it is important to encourage creativity. This being said, I make use of music, painting, dance and other creative art forms. I also love adventures outside in nature, and reading books! It is a belief of mine that children learn through hands-on experiences interacting with their world. Their development in all domains (Social,Physical,Intellectual/Cognitive, Create & emotional) can best be supported by offering a wide range of activities and having small engaging interactions to peak curiosity! I am available for full-time employment until January 2015, which is when I plan on volunteering in a Kindergarten classroom located in Tonga. It is important to give back and experience the world. I had the opportunity to participate in a Humanitarian Trip (with nurses, doctors, ECE\'s and other professionals) to offer support to the people in small Mayan Villages. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me. I would love to hear from you! - See more at: Private Childcare Provider 2004-Present Provide childcare from infants up until age ten Occasionally responsible for picking up child/children from school or an activity Offer quality learning opportunities and nutritious meals in a safe environment Program Assistant at Keyworth School-Age Program (OCSB) Summers 2012 & 2013 Planned and implemented science and art activities Assisted with the overall functioning of the program Provided one - on - one support for a child with Down syndrome Fieldwork Placement at Cambridge Elemenary School in Full-Day Early Learning (OCDSB) Spring 2014 Fieldwork Placement at Glebe Parents Daycare with Infants Winter 2013 Fieldwork Placement at River Parkway Childrens Centre with Junior Preschoolers Fall 2012 Fieldwork Placement at Keyworth School-Age Program (OCSB) Winter 2012 Planning, organizing and implementing children\\\\\\\'s activities at a local market during the Summer months 10-day Humanitarian Project to Guatemala to provide training to Daycare Providers and play-based learning opportunities for children in daycares.
