Hi! My name is Katelyn. I am 23 years old. I am a Laurentian University student completely my 4th year of my degree and in September I will be starting the Early Childhood Education program at Conestoga. I am looking for full-time work till the end of August or part-time work all year round. I have been looking after children since I was 11 years old, both as a paid babysitter, and as a volunteer in both Guiding and Scouting. For the last 4 years I have been volunteering with an organization called Frontier College that promotes educational activities to stimulate and encourage learning in any environment. I started babysitting my younger brothers when I was ten, and than after taking the babysitters course in 2001, I started babysitting for friends of my parents. I was an occasional babysitter for a family with two boys, one infant and one toddler during the winter of 2001. I than was an occasional babysitter for a family with three children, two girls and one boy, from 2003-200.... When I started babysitting the children, the youngest was three and the eldest was nine. I also babysat occasionally for a family of four, three boys and one girl, from 2001-200.... First looking after the three boys, then later looking after the youngest boy and the girl. As a Girl Guide Leader from 2004-200..., I was responsible for girls between the ages of 7-9 during meetings, overnight sleep overs and camping trips. I taught them basic food preparation skills, how to prepare for the outdoors, and many other skills. Since September 2009 I have been a volunteer tutor with Frontier College. This organization promotes learning for children and adults of every age. I have worked with students between the ages of 5 and 13, both in One-One tutoring as well as Homework Clubs.
