Hi! My name is Emily, I'm 25 years old, and I live in the False Creek area. I'm a happy, energetic, imaginative, fun loving person! I am great with pets (I even have a miniature poodle myself), I love creative projects, such as arts and crafts, and staying active by doing things such as walking, biking, hiking or swimming. I have many years of experiencing in childcare, working part time on and off with families for more than 8 years. I am currently accepting evening and weekend babysitting positions. In the past, I have volunteered in children’s ministry at my church. For 3 years I was a Sunday school teacher 1-3 times a month for children from infants to preschool and kindergarten, up to children in grades 1 through 5. In these positions I lead the kids in fun and engaging games, teach lessons, read stories, and distribute snacks! Aside from teaching and managing childcare in larger groups, I also have great experience with babysitting and part time nanny jobs. I have cared for children ranging from under 1 year of age, all the way up to 11 years of age. In these jobs my duties were vast and included, but were not limited to: engaging in playtime with the kids, making sure homework was done, taking them to activities, preparing and serving snacks and/or dinner, tidying the house, changing diapers/bathing and bedtime routines. I have training in first aid and CPR for situations that involve adults, children, and infants. I also have my class five drivers license. I currently do not own a car, but with one provided I would be confident driving to and from after school activities, etc. I believe that taking care of children is one of the greatest things that we can do! I strive to always be encouraging, helpful and enforce the rules and boundaries that parents have set up for their children in a loving and positive way.
