Hi, my name is Connie and I am especially interested in helping families who are experiencing postpartum mood disorder (PPMD) difficulties. I not only triumphed through PPMD myself, but after I recovered, I then went on to volunteer with Peel Region Health to create an educational program about this illness as well as co-facilitated a peer support group for women going through it themselves. There are many women (and their families) that are unable to get the help they need to go through this, and here is where I can help. I can help take care of your children if you need a break or to run errands. I can offer some insight and guidance in how to get through it yourself...or I can just sit with you and listen. The least I will offer is an extra hand and the most is hope. Besides being a mother for four children, I have volunteered at an Ontario Early Years Centre for 2 years to assist with welcoming families to the centre, interracting with parents and their children, read and sang for 'circle time'.
