Nanny in Calgary

Hi Families! I am looking for a short term placement from January 2016- Mid March 2016 as I am moving to Portland, Oregon to continue my studies in Speech & Hearing Sciences to become an SLP. I'm currently a nanny for 2 year old twins and an aide for a girl with PTLS but these positions will be ending in December. I was a nanny for a 2 year old boy with down syndrome and a 4 year old girl from Jan until August but was unable to continue with them as I couldn't do full time. I was recently traveling for 9 months doing volunteer work and experiencing all parts of the world! I was in South Africa for 3 months teaching and doing childcare work at a school and nursery in one of the townships. I also started a dance workshop at the school as part of an internship. I have done about 3 years at the University of Calgary majoring in psychology and doing a minor in speech sciences. I love kids and have had the opportunity to work with all different ages. I have always had a passion for helping others. I have been to Ghana, Africa twice now volunteering in an orphanage, teaching and taking care of the orphans. I have also been to Zambia, Africa where I built a house with habitat for humanity. I love volunteering and I have volunteered locally here in Calgary as well, at PACE Kids. I did a practicum there, working with children with hearing impairments and a slight motor disability. I know some french because I was in french immersion from grade 6-9. I enjoy skiing, playing soccer, swimming, hiking, yoga and anything fitness related! I also love to get creative with arts and crafts as well as scrapbooking. I also love reading and cooking healthy nutritious meals. I have my intro certificate in holistic nutrition which I find fascinating. I am an honest, outgoing person that really enjoys working with children. Being a part of a child\'s development and getting the opportunity to watch them grow is truly amazing. I have worked with children of all ages. My teaching and organizational skills give me the ability to provide excellent care as a nanny. I have done it all from preparing and cooking the children's meals to preparing the family dinner. I also have had experience doing many household chores such as laundry, dishes, looking after pets. I have experience planning educational activities, outings, games, arts and crafts, library visits, swimming, baking, playdates etc. I have also had experience with transport to/from school or outings to the zoo etc. and supervision of extra kids during playdates. I have done housesitting many times so if you go out of town I am there to take care of pets or watch the house. I was just in South Africa for 3 months teaching and doing childcare work at a school and nursery in one of the townships. I also started a dance workshop at the school as part of an internship. I will be in Thailand volunteering with kids with disabilities on a healthcare program.
