Hi families

Nanny

Hi families I'm available from June I'll have a work visa coming from Australia. I was originally going to go straight into a counselling/child-youthwork/socialwork role for work however I thought it might be rewarding and a great cultural experience working more intimately with kids and their families in a live-in nannying role. I could work just for the summer or if matched well I'd be open to long-term. I'm willing to work in Vancouver. I'm nearly 30, mature single Christian female currently in Australia, though working with a Christian family is not a must. I'm currently working as both a Pastoral Care Counsellor with primary and high school students as well as a Community Care Team Manager here with hobbies on the side of lifeguarding, swimming, surfing, martial arts, arts & crafts, reading, organic cooking and gardening, and other healthy fun activities. I love seeing kids smile, hearing them laugh, encouraging them to achieve their dreams, make goals and reach them one by one, and I have to say, they love me to! I regularly facilitate, design and launch activities, programs, camps and groups based on kids needs, making them fun and educational at the same time! I love and respect seeing and hearing parents prioritising their kids needs - being willing to reach out for whatever support and resources their kids need to be the best and happiest they can be as kids and as part of the family whether that's through getting the extra support of an au pair, tutor or something/someone else. I have 10 years experience in and formally qualified in the social/community/human services fields working with children, youth and families as a counsellor, case manager, youth worker, mentor, advocate, support person, pastoral care counsellor, life coach in leadership and managment positions. I wear many hats in my work, it's a diverse range of tasks that I both complete with kids and families as well as delegate to my staff: from a big sister, to an authority figure, to a consoling parent, to a health counselling professional! I enjoy working with single parent families giving the kids that extra positive loving kind nurturing influence. I'm wise, discerning, alert and responsible, whilst also being approachable, easygoing and someone who easily fits in. I place high regard on family values; family is extremely important to me. If you think I'm the right match I'll give you my referees details so you can chat to them. In Australia we have strict child protection laws and it's compulsory to be cleared by Australian Federal Police and have a current Blue Card to work with kids which if I was a parent is something I'd want to know aobout the Nanny working with my babes :-) If you think we'd mesh, contact me.
