Hi! My name is Jillian and I am 20 years old. I live in Guelph, Ontario and am attending University of Guelph for Tourism Management. This summer (July-August) I am excited to move to Vancouver to experience more of my beautiful country. I am an outdoors girl through and through, and have spent 11 years at Camp Celtic Sports and Arts camp. Of these 11 years, 4 have been working as a staff person. At any given time, my camp has 50-200 children living on its grounds. I am in charge of 7-10 children at a time directly (live in cabin) and run high-risk activities such as sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, woods games, rock climbing to groups of 20. I am a fully qualified lifeguard and love the water. I love working with children and making our time together fun. I am most experienced with working with older children (7-16) although at my camp I primarily enjoy working with the younger ones. By living in cabin with my campers, I am able to spend 24 hours with them. The number of nights I have consoled a homesick camper, stayed up all night while they were sick, or helped them through a difficult time are innumerable. By living in cabin with the children, I have also been able to help introduce them to the wilderness and \'camp life\'. I am very hopeful that I will be able to get a full-time job over the summer holiday. I will be working at my camp for May and June, and moving out West in July. I look forward to talking with you!
