Hello there! My name is Jessie Jakumeit and I would love to meet with your family. I have lots of experience working with kids. In paticular, I have experience working on art-education programs for children. I've worked with the Royal BC Museum, Two Rivers Gallery and the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria on programs that make art interactive and fun for children. Watching kids have fun and get messy with ideas and materials invigorates me. I also have experience working with children and youth with disabilities. I was a camp counselor at an Easter Seals Camp and a Care-Aide to a teenage girl with disabilities. Working with high-needs kids has taught me to be patient and caring. My work experience reflects my love of children and art. In the summer of 2011 I ran week-long summer camps for children 7 to 12 years old at the Royal BC Museum in Victoria. Camps were themed around the current Emily Carr exhbit. In the summer of 2009 I organized a two day family arts event, BMO KidzArt Dayz, with Two Rivers Gallery. My other art-education experience includes working with the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria to develop programming for the Gallery-In-Schools program.
