Hello parents, guardians and other caregivers! My name is Linda, and I\'m a kid at heart. I believe in the value of play as a way of learning for the young child, and strive to prepare age-appropriate activities with a little challenge and lots of fun! I have very strong English communication skills (university graduate), and am able to communicate in Mandarin using common language. I have completed my First Aid and CPR-C and Food Handler certificate this year, as well as a vulnerable sector police check. I am currently completing my Child Development Practitioner Pre-Apprenticeship program and studying child-centred techniques and theories, so I am learning a lot of relevant knowledge that I am eager to put into practice. If you are look for a babysitter that goes beyond the status quo and brings new ideas and activities to the table, you\'ve found the right person! I am looking for a prospective employer who is willing to work in partnership with me to understand your child(ren)\'s needs and provide the best care for your child(ren). I hope you will give me a chance to experiment with new ideas as I develop my nurturing and teaching skills, and prepare myself for the field of Early Childhood Education. Hope to hear from you soon! Two years formal and informal experience providing responsive care to children aged 6 months to 12 years and leading age-appropriate activities, in day care centre, day camp, and private home settings. With infants and toddlers, I have worked one-on-one with them in a Toronto Early Learning and Child Care Centre. In the infant room, I assisting with meeting their needs of diapering, feeding and providing stimulating play activities. In the toddler room, I read stories to them, prepared craft material and supervised indoor and outdoor play. With pre-school and school age children, I mostly worked with them in large groups at day camps, preparing daily activities and leading challenging games, songs with action sequences, and reading stories. On occasion, I spent one-on-one time with pre-schoolers and school age children doing craft activities, reading together to improve literacy skills and develop a love for reading, and engaging in dramatic pretend play.
