Hello my name is Simone Colyn and I am a 21 year old student from Victoria BC. I am a bright, fun-loving individual who loves to get to know people and care for others. I am compassionate, empathetic and have a huge heart for kids. I have a lot of experience with children and delight in the joy that they bring to my life. The kids were of varying ages and sitting jobs ranged from breakfast until well into the evening. Was in charge of meals, playtime, activities out of the home as well as bedtime and general upkeep of the home. -Led Sunday School at my church during the service. Children ranged in age from 4-8 years old. Planned lessons, brought snacks, led discussions and playtime. -Led and facilitated Youth Group with a friend of mine. Youth were between the ages of 11-16. About 15 kids would come out on a weekly basis. Planned activities both in the church as well as for outings. -Volunteered in a small village in Mexico with a group from school, we built 3 houses for underprivileged families as well as set up activity camps for the children in the area. -Volunteered at an orphanage in Mumbai India for 1 month in 2010. Played with the children, helped them with their English homework, helped to prepare meals and washed the laundry.
