Nanny in Williams Lake, British Columbia

I'm an
Individual
Hello, like I said my name is Keziah. I am 20 years old and recently moved to Williams Lake. I was born here, but grew up in Edmonton Alberta, and I spent the last two years in LA, California, at a non-profit organizaition called the Dream Center, in their leadership school. The Dream Center Leadership School is a program designed to create young leaders, based upon the theology that to be a leader, you first have to be a servant. The program gave me a lot of incredible opportunites to learn how to serve the community, and love other people before loving myself. During my time as a student, I was given the opportunity to help run a "ministry track", for other students, a position not typically filled by students themselves, which gave me a lot of experience in creativity, teaching, team work, and administration. Along with that, every Saturday I was involved in something called Adopt A Block, a ministry that is based on consistency and community outreach. During my time at my "site" or neighbourhood, I was naturally drawn to the children there, and they to me, and I quickly became the overseer of childcare and activities. This was challenging considering we were just on a street corner in a low-income area of inner Los Angeles, but I loved every minute of it, and Saturdays became my favourite day of the week. During my second year, I was then asked to be the official site-leader, which basically meant I was put in charge of the team and neighborhood, making sure that every Saturday the needs of this community were being met through food and clothing give aways, childcare, and street clean up. This, along with the rest of my time in California was an incredible life experience, and I feel priviledged to have had those opportunities at such a young age! Before moving to California, I worked in retail, campaginging for a non-profit, as a waitress, and of course, in child care. I have always loved young people, and children, and since the age of 11 I have volunteered at day camps, and then as a counsellor at summer camps, worked in the nursery at my church growing up, and then was asked to be a youth leader at 17, and a young adults small group leader at 18. I was home schooled for a number of years growing up, and because of that I know that a child's time at home is an incredible opportunity for growth and learning through experiences, and I highly value activities that stimulate that, as well the encouragement from authority figures towards that development and growth, that is so fundamental for children, and I was so lucky to recieve from the influences in my life. In my senior year I went back to public school and received the top marks in English and Math, as well as a service award for being involved in our school's SADD chapter (Students Against Distracted Driving). I was on the schools soccer team, as well as dancing competitively outside of school. I love sports, and being active, but I also thrived academically. Beyond all of this I really just enjoy being with and loving people, which is why a job as a nanny appeals to me. I am reliable, hard working, and kind, but integrity, faith, and love for God and others are my deepest values, and I live my life according to those things. If you think I sound like a good match for your family, I'd love to hear from you. Thanks so much for reading all of this! Hahaha, talk to you soon.
