Nanny in Whitby, Ontario

Hello! My name is Katie and I am a university student with future plans of becoming a teacher, as I love caring and educating youth of all ages. Within my own family my mother is an elementary school teacher and it seems that I have taken after her as I absolutely adore caring for infants and children. I find great joy in caring and educating youth and I cherish seeing them evolve and learn. For the last two year I have been a Nanny/Au Pair for a family of two. I began with them when the children were just 2 years and 5 months of age. My duties included: Pre K - elementary school level education, light meal preparation, feeding, diapering, monitoring, scheduling as well as attending outings and providing swimming lessons. During this job I also worked with an occupational therapist to improve and correct the 2 year old\'s hypersensitive gag reflex difficulties by performing daily therapy. In the past I have baby sat for families in my neighborhood and have also been a dance and sailing Instructor. While I instructed I educated and cared for youth from the ages 2 to 16 years. I would plan daily lessons, games, teach basic swimming skills, and plan theme days. From working as a sailing instructor, I was given the opportunity to work with children who had physical and mental disabilities, thus becoming very comfortable with all children catering activities to fit each child\'s needs.
