Nanny in Montreal, Quebec

Hello! My name is Elissa. I have just moved to Montreal for a two-year Master\'s Program in Information Studies (so basically I will be a librarian upon completion of the program). I graduated from Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT in May 2009. Since then, I have been working in libraries and bookstores or teaching, during which time I also provided childcare, either by babysitting or through volunteer work. I absolutely love working with children: reading stories, doing arts and crafts, going for walks, playing at the playground, helping with homework, and everything else that goes along with the job!!! In addition to having been a babysitter, tutor, and assistant teacher in the past, I have a lot of volunteering experience with children. I babysat for immigrant and refugee children at the International Rescue Committee in Boston. I tutored boys at a Juvenile Prison in CT. I taught science experiments at CT Middle Schools. I babysat for a little boy at the Women and Children\'s Center in CT, while his mom was away at AA meetings. I also volunteered in orphanages in both Russia and Ukraine. I have been babysitting for almost fifteen years now. I have cared for children of almost all ages and at times I have watched over many children all at once. While I will not have a car in Montreal, in Boston I would drive children to and from school and other activities and in New York City, I would take them on the subway and other forms of public transportation. I am used to doing some light cleaning and preparing meals and snacks. I love to help with homework and read stories together.
