Hello, I am Mimi, I love children and have a lot of experience, I enjoy working with children so much that I am in the process of applying for the concurrent education program at my school. I love a challenge, and I am dedicated to every task that is put in front of me, and I am great with children of any age. I really hope that any family that sees this message will see that I am worth contacting because I have heart as well as the skills to prove to you that I am amazing at working with your children. I have been watching my nephew since he was born, he is currently 14 months old and is a handful but an enjoyable one; I have also babysat 3 of my neighbours which was a lot of fun, it was a challenge at first to handle 3 kids at a time but it taught me how to balance my time and to be more organized; I also volunteered for The Kids Day at York University on behalf of the McLaughlin College, we had a fun day of indoor activities such as creative activities and outdoor activities such as a scavenger hunt and various sports in groups of about 6 to 8 students and 6 volunteers, it was a positive experience and I will volunteer again this year for the same opportunity; I have also worked with Kindergartens and Grade 5 students in their Science class at Discovery Public School, I helped with organizing the classroom, supervised their lunch and snack times as well as their play time, as well as other daily interactions such as homework assignments; I also worked with Kindergartens and Grade 1 and 2 students at St. James Catholic School where I also supervised their lunch time and also was enrolled in the reading buddy system along with my other classmates; I also tutored students in Grade 9 French, working with them to accomplish their assignments, gain more literacy skills, as well as working witht the French teachers helping them organize their classes for a special Grade 12 Project that went towards my Functionally Bilingual Certificate; I have recently joined a tutoring program for students in Toronto who are in need of individual instruction in certain subject areas as well as a program at York University called Peace by Peace that trains York students to help Grade 5 students with conflict resolution. As you can see I love to volunteer, especially with children, and that my expertise is quite diverse.
