Individual
Hello, I am a university student from Vancouver, Canada, currently studying in Montreal. I am looking for summer employment (May to August) that involves working with children, with the possibility of continuing throughout the school year. I have always loved spending time with them, and plan to pursue a career where I can work with children full-time. I also enjoy reading, running, hiking, camping, and spending time with family and friends. My peers describe me as being caring, insightful, compassionate, gentle, patient, calm, dedicated, thoughtful, reliable, and conscientious. Although I do not have paid experience with children, I have around 700 hours of volunteer experience with various children groups. I volunteered at a children\'s summer camp at a nature reserve for two years. There, I worked with groups of 20-30 children, aged 3-9, playing with them, helping with arts and crafts, and teaching them about preserving the natural environment. I volunteered as a Group leader at a YMCA Leadership Conference in the spring of 2014, leading a group of 27 girls aged 11-13. I am also certified as a Teen Grief Mentor, after completing the required training, and volunteered at a Hospice Society Children Support Group in 2013-201.... This gave me the opportunity to work with children and teens (aged 3-14) who had recently lost a family member or friend. I also have two younger siblings whom I helped raise, since my parents both worked full-time. I have experience tutoring children as well. I have also work in the customer service industry, where I gained valuable skills: leadership, problem solving, adaptability, time mangagement, communication, social skills, and teamwork. I have been learning French for six years. I have spoken English and Korean since birth, and I have also been learning Spanish for the past four years. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile! If you have any questions, please feel welcome to send me a message. I look forward to working with you.
