Hello, I am a recent university graduate from Trent University, looking to work with children and families. I am 23, energetic and creative, with many years volunteer experience with kids and youth. I am passionate about learning, and understand that each individual learns differently. Some activities I enjoy with kids include reading, hiking, crafting, music, and tutoring. I am well-organized and work well independently or in a team. As a nanny/caregiver, I think it is important to have good communication with the entire family, to best understand their needs and requirements. I can clean, cook and bake. I enjoy planning outings, and providing a good balance of play and learning for the kids I work with. I am flexible and adaptable. One year for summer employment I ran kids activities at a resort, including entertaining kids 2-10, providing snacks, and organizing activities. I spent another summer working with a community resource center working with pre-school children in two programs - toy bus, for young kids and parents, and 'schools cool', a program for children preparing for kindergarten, More recently, I provided tutoring for school age children through Frontier College in Peterborough. I was also a guider for the local Sparks (Girl Guides) unit, supervising and running activities for girls 4-7, including over night camps. I come from a big family, and am a proud aunt to many nieces and nephews. I love teaching, and encouraging kids to enjoy learning.
