Nanny in Vancouver, British Columbia

I'm an
Individual
Hello Families! A bit about me... I was born and raised in BC, and now live in Burnaby, where I play and also coach youth and high school rugby. I love to be out in the elements and on the move whenever possible. I am a fun loving, passionate about sports, am a bit of a book worm and always in the mood for being creative! I love TED Talks, National Geographic and anything that feeds my brain! I also hope to learn both French and Spanish fluently by 2016. I have 6 years of experience working with kids. As a nanny, I believe that being firm, fair, and fun are key principals in helping to raise \'little people\' to grow into responsible, compassionate, strong young adults. I look to not only be an employee, but a partner in raising your children, and given time, a part of the family. Honesty, curtesy, (self) respect, self awareness, acceptance and family unity are all qualities that I look to nurture in the children that I work with. I am straight forward, and have clear expectations and routines for my charges. I feel that having fun does not often include sitting in front of the TV or computer, and I look to keep kids moving and engaged in as many creative ways as possible while they are with me. If being serious about routine is my specialty, being goofy is my joy. I love to Laugh......a lot! I look to find the best of each situation and hope to share a positive \'can do\' outlook with each of my charges. My motto is \'even when it rains, somewhere there is a rainbow\' While my main focus is the children, I am happy to help the family with light housekeeping, laundry, errands, shopping etc, so long as it allows for me to give my best to the kids. I hope that gives you some insight into what kind of Nanny I am and look forward to hearing from you! Please feel free to contact me via email or telephone @ 77... to discuss any further details or to fire any questions at me that you may have. I have a variety of experience working with children including positions as a Nanny, coach, Camp leader, and as a Lifeguard. I also have experience in the private sector as a Behavioural Interventionist, working one on one with clients with autism. As a 'BI' I worked one on one with clients facilitating their connection with their communities. My role was to promoting positive, safes experiences, while ensuring safety and fun with each interaction. Other key responsibilities in this role included assisting my client with meal time, bath time and fitness and assisting in achieving personal goals. I have varied experience as a Nanny with multiple clients/families. My childcare experience ranges from new born Infants, toddlers, to teenagers, however is primarily with children ages 4-10. I have worked with single children, siblings and larger groups of children (up to 3-4 at a time), however my usual family has only 2 children on a regular basis. My key responsibilities while working with most of these families included... *Pick up/drop off at school/extracurricular activities. *Meal prep and clean up. *Assistance with school work/learning games *Creating and implementing sound daily routines to encourage independence and involvement in daily chores. *Kept daily activity diary for future review and sharing with parents. *Assisted with bathing, getting dressed etc *Arranging/facilitating play dates *Family Errands/ light house chores ( laundry, dishes, etc) *Encouraging fun safe imaginative play ( Independent as well as with peers) I currently am a volunteer coach with the BLRC ( Burnaby Lake Rugby Club) , where I work with children ages 3-12, helping them learn the early skills and mechanics of Rugby.
