I'm an
Individual
Hello Families! My name is Brooke and I am 24 years old. I am mature, caring, energetic and fun loving individual-with many years of experience working with children of all ages! I earned a Divison I soccer scholarship to the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in which I obtained a four year Bachelor of Arts degree, specializing in Visual Arts. In September I will be continuing my education at Western to become a teacher. Since finishing my undergraduate degree, I have provided childcare for a professional couple’s four young children, ranging in age from 4 – 10 years. My responsibilities include ensuring that they are organized for the school day, escorting them to and from school, overseeing their homework assignments, preparing healthy meals and snacks, caring for them when they are sick, helping them resolve conflict and designing activities that challenge and inspire them. Prior to this, I worked for two summers as a camp counsellor at the YMCA. My responsibilities included ensuring health and safety guidelines were followed, planning and delivery of age-appropriate programs (e. G. Sports, music, art and creative playtime), supervision of campers (including indoor, outdoor and swimming pool activities), conflict resolution and liaison with staff and extended family members. During this time, I assumed a leadership role, mentoring junior counsellors and volunteers. I am certified in both CPR and First Aid. I have full-time(summer) availability.
