Nanny in Kitchener, Ontario

I'm an
Individual
Hello Families, My name is Hannah, I am currently looking for part time to full time hours within 1 or 2 families. I am open to short term work or smaller amounts of hours. However I am ideally looking for a family I can care for consistently in order to create a bond and build trust. I have been caring for young children since I was old enough to complete the babysitting course. I am also the eldest of 4 children. My mother is a single mother and has always worked very hard to provide for us. When I was 13 years old my mother was accepted to a full time registered nursing program. This amazing achievement of my mothers came with long hours and even longer to do lists. This resulted in me having extensive, irreplaceable, and organic experience in child care and all the small but so important details associated with that care. During my adolescence I babysat children of various ages at the homes of friends and families. When I advanced to high school I started to take on some more serious child care rolls. Such as working with twin boys with special needs as well as caring for a premature infant. As I entered grade 12 I signed myself up for Canadian nannies. Before I knew it I was the proud nanny of a 3 month old baby boy. I instantly fell in love with both the child and his amazing parents. After I graduated as valedictorian I began to nanny baby boy full time. I continued to care for him full time for almost 2 years. At this time the parents and I discussed the importance of socializing with peers and the positive skills attributed to children who had spent time attending a formal daycare setting before attending JK/SK. It was decided that not so baby boy would start attending daycare and I would be on call for evenings and weekends. With this schedule change I decided to make some changes myself. I applied and was accepted to the Early childhood education program at Conestoga college. I began my studies in January 2017 through to May 2018. Over my studies I completed 13/16 courses required to be a registered early childhood educator. Unfortunately due to some unforeseeable circumstances with my family I was not able to fully complete my schooling. After leaving school in May 2018 I began working as a supply staff for a formal daycare. In September I was offered a full time position covering a leave of absence. During my time as a full time staff I worked in infant, toddler, and pre-school rooms as well as in an after school care program . My responsibilities included but were not limited to diapering, meal preparation and serving, nap time schedules and sleep aiding, daily journals for each child outlining their day. As well as weekly planning sheets outlining planned and unplanned activities and the connection to development those activities encouraged. At the end of each week I was responsible for writing one professional and referenced documentation of a specific activity or moment that had occurred. This and all other completed paperwork was reviewed by a superior and then posted for parents to see and take home as memories. I truly enjoyed my time working full time and getting to know and love all the children and families as well as fellow staff members. However as of December 01 2018 my position covering a leave of absence has ended. I had planned to continue to supply staff for the daycare however hours are very sparse and random. Due to the requirements of my previous position; on top of my completed ECE courses I am also HCP certified in first aid and CPR and have an up to date vulnerable sectors police check. At the moment I am caring for an infant on Saturday mornings but this is a week to week arrangement. Please feel free to contact me for more specifics or with any questions!
