Hello families and potential employers! My name is Danielle Dixon and I am a full-time student at Sheridan College. I am currently working towards my diploma in Early Childhood Education. What am I looking for? A part-time position taking care of children from toddler hood to school aged children. I also would consider working with adults with or without disabilities and the elderly.I am energetic, organized, and have a passion for the care of children. My first babysitting experience took place when I was in middle school. A girl in the fourth grade, who lived in the same apartment complex with me, would come to my home after school until her mother would pick her up. During high-school I also had the opportunity to work with children (3rd grade) during my co-op at CherryTree Elementary School. I assisted with supervision during the lunch periods and recess time, assisted children in school work and even got to teach art lessons towards the end of my placement.This took place from October 2010 to February 2011. I also completed my required high-school community service hours at this school. My most recent experience with children took place in the early summer of 2012, during my first field placement at Sheridan college. I worked two days a week for two months. During this time I supervised children, helped them through daily activities ( dressing for outside/changing cloths,meal/bathroom times, washing hands,clean up), followed institution from my supervisor,did basic cleaning and upkeep, and created/implemented small and large group activities that were geared towards their learning and development. This placement has been the most enjoyable for me so far because I had the chance to apply the information I have been learning daily in my course( Early Childhood Education).
