Nanny in Toronto, Ontario

Hello! I am a Registered Practical Nurse registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario with extensive experience working with children, toddles, infants and newborns. I am seeking a nanny position because I love working with children and greatly enjoy watching and being a part of their growth and development. Just to tell you a little about myself, I was born in the Dominican Republic and raised in Canada. I come from a family of 6 children. Since the age of 9 I have been greatly involved in the care of my younger siblings and have extensive experience caring for children of various ages. Since the age of 12 I have been providing babysitting and nanny services to individuals in my community. I have also acquired extensive child care experience due to my roles as a camp councillor, volunteering in our church nursery and with youth groups. I have been working as a nurse for approx. 5 years and I have greatly enjoyed all the different mediums of nursing that I have been able to experience. I have a real passion for helping people and genuinely enjoy being around children. I honestly believe that fostering the sense of wonderment in children and helping them learn and grow is one of the most amazing, wonderful and sometimes scary things one can do with one’s life. I am currently working at a private pediatric nurse for a boy who was born with medical complications. In my current role I am very committed to following the lead of the parents when providing care, although I am eager to share my knowledge when asked. In my role I take care of any medical needs that he requires as well as caring for his day-to-day needs. I entertain him with educational indoor/outdoor play, we attend music and play groups, and I attend doctor/hospital appointment and document daily activities for medical review I am experienced in taking sole care of young children, and I have the patience, compassion and knowledge to support both the parents and the children that are in my care. I am always eager to help and gladly enjoy offering any extra help that the family may request of me. I am also very observant and happily enjoy doing any extra things that I am capable of doing to make the life of the parents and child more easy, happy and enjoyable. I have excellent written and verbal communication and I greatly enjoy working in partnership with parents to provide the best and most positive care to the children I am responsible for. I am a very quick learner, and I am fully committed to continuing my education and providing evidence based care. I have current First Aid and CPR, a clear Criminal Record Check, and am registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Care and safety are the highest priority to me, and confidentiality is of upmost importance. I am very passionate about providing great care to the child I am responsible for and I believe I would be a great asset to your family.
