Nanny in Port Coquitlam
Hello! My name is Rachel and I am a third year student at Simon Fraser University. I intend to finish my studies in 2013 with B.A. in English and a French minor. After achieving my BA, I plan to attend Simon Fraser University\'s Professional Development Program (PDP) in order to pursue my dream and become a certified elementary school teacher. I have always been passionate about caring for and working with children. I have been babysitting since the age of 11, which has allowed to me develop many skills required in order to provide care and safety for children of all ages. Throughout the years I have been babysitting, I have developed advanced interpersonal and communication skills. These skills have facilitated communication between the children\'s parents and me. Moreover, they have enabled me to become apt at communicating with young children and understanding their needs. In the spring, I began volunteering with Port Coquitlam Softball Association\'s Learn to Play program; a program which teaches young children basic softball skills. As a coach for Learn to Play, I must follow the directions given to me in order for the young children to gain the most from this program. If needed, I am able to adapt the procedures in such a way that the children better understand them and still receive the same knowledge. I am also required to work with the children both by myself and as a part of a team. These situations have allowed me to become much more organised; time is limited and I must use every minute wisely in order for the children to reap the most from the lesson. I am ecstatic at the opportunity to get to know you and your family!
