Hello My name is Sophia Odwar. I would love a position working with babies. I believe at these young ages, children need stability and security which is my top priority when I\'m in the presence of children. I believe that taking care of children doesn\'t just mean necessities but also mental health. I take the time to get to know them and build relationships. I have plenty of experience with children as well as the some university knowledge of child development in Psychology (going into my last year). Sophia Odwar My first experience with children was in a Junior kindergarten classroom. I did my high school co-op program as a teachers assistant. On average, the children were 3-4 years old. My duties included helping them dress with outside wear for recess or going home. I helped with activities and I also help the teacher set-up activities for the children. My next experience with children was volunteering in programs with older children ages 6-13. I participated in playing games with them and helped them understand rules and with problem solving. My most recent experience was in a daycare in Brazil. I was on exchange and volunteered in my last month. The children's ages ranged from 4 months to 4 years old. I was placed with the youngest children between 4 months and 2 years old. I was given plenty of responsibility including feeding, changing diapers, playtime, and nap time. Playtime included helping build motor skills, build problem solving skills and speech development activities.
