Hello!

Nanny in Montreal

Hello! My name is Isabella and I am a recent graduate from Concordia University, hoping to continue my education in the fall with a Master\'s of Education here in Montreal. . Originally from Calgary, Alberta, I moved to Montreal in order to use my French and expand my independence. Five years later I am still incredibly happy with my choice. I love working with children and children with special need, continually maligning this a priority in my work and academic life. Over the summer, and as I continue my education in fall, I hope to expand my experience with children and with families through nannying. My eventual goal being working in the field with children with special needs as a career. It is most important that your child (children) is with someone who you can trust; your comfort and peace of mind are my top priority. I know I would make an excellent nanny for you and your family, and I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions whatsoever. I look forward to meeting you and your family! Yours Truly, Isabella (Bella) I started working with children as a babysitter when I was 11 in Calgary, Alberta (my hometown) and then began working with children in a more professional setting when I was 17 through the YMCA. As a babysitter, I worked for various families in my neighbourhood, the primary family I worked for I stayed with for 7 years (until I was 18 and moving to Montreal). They had three boys, and as I aged, so did my responsibilities with them - from evenings, to full days, to driving them to and from the hockey rink (all 3 boys played hockey). Although I do not get to see them as often as I used to, I still enjoy running into this family whenever I am home in Calgary and catching up on what the boys are doing now. From babysitting I moved on to working with theI Camp Chief Hector YMCA in Alberta, through their spring and summer camp programs. There I worked with children and youth ages 6-17 who were with the camp for 1 or 2 weeks at a time. I was responsible for 8-13 children at a time and was their primary caregiver both onsite (at camp) and offsite (during backpacking, horse, and canoe trips that lasted 2-5 days). I worked at this camp for three years. When I moved to Montreal I sought out working with children through the YMCA once again and began working as an educator and animator for the Westmount YMCA. As an educator, I worked in the YMCA\'s preschool program with children ages 3-5 where I was responsible for up to 30 kids (between 2 or 3 educators). We ran different kinds of programs with the children including music, sports, academics, and quieter activities such as reading and art. As an animator, I worked with children ages 6-12 during the after-school program. We ran programs specialized to the needs of different age groups, including baking, arts and crafts, games outside or in the gyms and much more. We also had an hour of each afternoon allocated to homework where we were available for help should the children require it. During my time at the YMCA I began working with children with special needs. From there I moved on to work as a private shadow in an elementary school for a grade 4 student who remains undiagnosed but has sever behavioural issues. This is my second year working with this student and together we have created an environment in which he can feel more comfortable and capable, allowing him to keep control of his behaviour and his outbursts. This year I also began working as an Educator for an 11 year old boy with autism and global delay. Together we work on homework, social skills, and life skills (such as tying shoes and memorizing his home address). I have also been able to help implement various protocols to help with his behaviour with his parents that have proved to be beneficial overall.
