Nanny in Langley

Hello, I am a recent graduate from Trinity Western University, with a Bachelor of arts in Education, Art and History. I am the oldest of five children and my youngest brother has Autism which has resulted in my passion for working with children with special needs. I have over 10 years of experience working as a nanny. I have had previous experience working with children who have autism and I have received a small amount of ABA (Autism Behavioral Analysis) training. I have previous experience working with children in home, camp and classroom settings. While working at Carson City Kickback Camp and 4-H Lake Creek Camp, I had the opportunity to work with children ages 7-17 including a boy with autism and in the classroom I have done practicums with students grades 2-3. Through my experience as Lead Staff at Carson City Kickback Camp, I developed valuable leadership skills which helped me grow in confidence in myself as a leader, and learned that having engaging activities and planning ahead was invaluable for my success. I have experience developing and implementing engaging and effective lesson plans, and I have a passion for creating fun, interesting, hands-on activities. Based on previous work experiences, I have a working knowledge-base of many childrens activities, games, and arts and crafts projects. Both in camp situations and in my own personal experience as a university student, I am able to work effectively and efficiently, as well as multitask.I maintain a positive and energetic attitude in all work situations, and love working with people of all ages. I have a very hand-on style of childcare and I love to keep kids engaged! I am warm, caring and energetic with a love for developing positive and meaningful relationships with children and families. I know lots of amazing arts and craft projects perfect for kids of all ages and I love to plan activities that foster learning and development. I believe that communication and collaboration with parents is essential to a successful working relationship. I have a love for learning and interacting with people and I am excited about this opportunity to work with your family! I am willing to provide references upon request.
