Hello! My name is Maureen and I have a diploma in Child and Youth Work from Georgian College. I currently work for SCDSB as a Child and Youth Worker, helping children to develop socially and emotionally and to modify behaviours. I have worked with a variety of children from different cultures, with varying abilities and with a range of diagnoses. Previous employment has included summer Camp Counsellor, Crisis Intervention Worker and Peer Support Worker. I have CPR training and Behaviour Management Systems Training. I am fun-loving and like to laugh! I am creative and love to try new things. I enjoy cooking, arts and crafts, reading, outdoor and imaginative play. I have worked as a babysitter, after-school program assistant, day camp counsellor , crisis intervention worker at an emergency family shelter and, currently, as a Child and Youth Worker for a school board. I have worked with children with a variety of exceptionalities including Autism Spectrum and Oppositional Defiant Disorder. In my current position I help children to develop their social skills, emotional well-being and to modify problem behaviours.
