Our Family: Our family consists of Daddy (Cathal), Mammy (Aoife) and our son Fionnan who will be 1 in May 2018. We are originally from Ireland and have lived in Toronto for 4.5 years now. We love to travel and experience all things new. Having fun, laughing and joking is how we like to spend our days together. Fionnan is a pretty chilled and laid back boy, although he knows his own mind! He loves to interact with people and laugh and mess about. He is also starting to show a real interest in dogs and other animals, as well as singing and dancing and playing silly. At present his favorite activity is swimming. We would like to consider our home a warm and welcoming environment, where our friends and family are invited to make themselves at home, we would hope that our care giver feels a part of our family and comfortable and welcome in our home at all times. Duties and Responsibilities: Undertake most tasks related to our son’s care. A focus on preparing him for daycare and gradually transitioning him into a routine similar to the one he will be expected to follow when he starts on Oct 1st. Planning daily activity schedules in areas such as, but not limited to, crafts, music and outdoor activities. Provide opportunity to interact with other children, for example attendance and participation in circle time and play dates is important also. Focus on developmental milestones and support our son’s needs in relation to these important stages. We would also like to focus on tasks that will help him adjust more easily to the daycare setting, an environment that is not one on one care, therefore to build independence, things such as increased ability to feed himself etc. Household tasks will be limited to those in relation to our son’s care such as keeping his areas neat and tidy, putting his clothes in the laundry, disregarding of dirty diapers, washing and preparing bottles, preparing his meals etc. Routine: Current routine is as set out below. In the weeks leading up to the start of daycare we will be working on transitioning him to a similar routine to that of the daycare Centre. The main difference will be napping, he will be required to transition from his current two daytime naps to one nap from 12-2pm. Wake at 7am. Bottle. Play. Breakfast. Activity. Read stories. Nap time (roughly 930-11). Wake. Bottle. Activity. (This is the time we generally go out to meet other kids). Lunch. Nap (roughly 2-4). Wake. Bottle. Activity. Dinner. Bath. Bed (7pm). (These Activities should be planned and carried out by the care giver) Babysitting: It would be great also, but not essential, if the candidate was available for babysitting from time to time and also after Oct 1st. Meals: Meal prep will be required for our sons meals only. In most cases he will have had breakfast before we leave in the morning, and in some cases will have dinner with us on our return so in general it will be lunch and snacks daily, but this will vary from day to day.
