Nanny in Hamilton, Ontario

My name is Emma Shields. I am a graduate of the Child and Youth Care program at Mohawk College and am in my fifth year in the Concurrent-Education program at Brock University for French and Visual Arts. I have a passion for working with children and youth, as well as interests in the arts and the outdoors. I have worked for various summer camps, completed two college placements in elementary schools and was a caregiver for a child with special needs for a year. In 2018 to 2020 I worked as a nanny for three children ages 5-9, tutored a nine year old in French, worked in a therapeutic foster homes for children ages 4-18 and a group home for boys ages 6-14. Recently, I worked as a nanny for two children ages 4 and 5 and as a supply pre-school teacher at Umbrella Family. My childcare approach is one that centers compassion, mindfulness, play, experiential learning and creative exploration. I live in Hamilton and am looking for a part time position, 8-16 hours a week.
