Nanny in Victoria, British Columbia

I started this description trying to write about all the amazing kids I've worked with through the years- but this only allows so many stories. So, this is a brief description of some of the long term families I've worked with. I have encountered a crazy variety of ages, backgrounds, and personalities! I have experience with twins, multiple children at once, and kids on the autism spectrum. I started my first child care position right when I turned 13. It was with a single mom of two; one 5-year-old boy and a 2-year-old girl. They were the first kids to lead me down the amazing path of nannying. This family also introduced me to the autism spectrum. I learned what to do to adapt and loved every minute of it! Soon after I finshed high school I found another family that I worked for, for 2.5 years. She was an incredible 2-year-old that taught me so much of what I know today. I had to leave her and her family once she started kindergarten. I found my most recent nanny job with a 1-year-old and stayed with them for a little under a year. Through the years I have worked short-term for SO many others! I am extremely attentive and energetic with every child I work with. I also take pride in my patience. To me, patience, attitude, and energy are some of the most important attibutes to have when it comes to caring for kids. Also, a good imagination for those older kiddos! I love the opportunity that nannying gives me to teach and guide kids as their growing. I always make an effort to incorporate learning through play as well. I've tried to get normal jobs and always end up coming back to nannying. It's something I love to do, and always will!
