Nanny in Ottawa, Ontario

I am a 47 year old single woman looking for an opportunity to assist a family with the business of life. I have the time and would like to help. I am currently studying yoga with Diane Long in the tradition of Vanda Scaravelli and would like to work in a fun filled environment that lends itself to purpose, play, creativity and joyfulness. Movement is key and an assest to the development within my practise and I take pleasure in sharing what I have learned. During Highschool and University I was a lifeguard and swimming instructor for 11 years, follwoing that I studied Fashion at Ryerson University and graduated with a degree in Design and visual arts. I had loved working with children when I was younger so after travelling to Australia and New Zealand I came home to pursue my teaching degree in Montessori Education for 3-6 years olds and grades 1 though to 6. I taught at the Glebe Montessori School for 5 years where I ended my teaching career as the Art Specialist. My next steps were working for Muriel Dombret at Clothes, on Wellington West. I was there for 14 years and loved my job. Over the past 4 years I became trained as a Professional DeClutter and Grief Recovery Specialist and started a business with my sister called a Joyful thing. I have a very vast experience with life and bring all of that with me. The one consistent thread has always been my absolute respect for child development and the evolving growth and potential of the child. I had always dreamed of being a mother but my story does not include such a gift, and so it is. I would be delighted to hear from any family that would embrace an opporutnity to work togther with respect for a less than conventional career orientation. I am planning to go to Italy for a month leaving September 19, returning October 19. I will be studying with my teacher at this time. Summer work would be ideal.
