Nanny Job in Wellington, Ontario

We are a little family - just me, my son, and his dad - living in an old restored church in the heart of Prince Edward County (wine country!). We just moved from Toronto to live a quiet life, and we love it here. We are close to the beach and have a big home and backyard for lots of play and relaxation. Chris (my partner) and I are relaxed people who raise our son with love and laughter. I am self-employed photographer and will work from home during the week (about 5 hours/day). I work in the city on weekends, and will likely be away most weekends during the summer. Chris works at a winery down the street, and he will be at home some weekdays, too. We have two sweet little dogs (Boston Terriers) who sleep all the time, so you must like dogs :) Our days tend to be pretty relaxed, and we want to find a nanny/au-pair who will enjoy a quiet life in the country with us. We live in a very special part of Ontario (Wellington is nicknamed 'Little Toronto') that has a wonderful mix of quiet country life AND a wonderful night life, food wine scene, and lots of concerts and opportunities to be social. Since we live in the countryside you will need a drivers license, but we have a vehicle you are able to use for day trips with our son! We live a 90-minute train ride from Toronto, and are happy to pick you up and drop you off if our scheduling allows. You will have a minimum three days off per week, and we would encourage you to hop on the train and explore the areas around us. We also have a home in Toronto that you are welcome to stay at when you travel to the city! Our nanny/au-pair would be with our son for a couple of hours two weekdays/week (likely Thursday and Friday). Your days off will be Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Both Chris and I work weekends, so your main support will be needed on Saturday and Sunday. Saturdays may be longer days for you (10 hours), but Sundays should be shorter (8 hours). The other weekdays will be shorter, too (maximum 5 hours). Our son naps in the middle of the day for up to three hours, and I will be home all the time during the week if you need me. He is a sweet little guy who has an inventive imagination, and loves to play, laugh, run around and have fun. We have a big backyard with lots of room to play games and run around. We are a short drive to two beaches (5 minutes either one) or into the main town of Wellington (5 minutes). There are numerous play-groups in the area held on a daily basis, and we would encourage you to change up the scene and check them out, as well! We would love for you to be able to prepare basic meals for him and to help with some light housekeeping including some laundry and tidying of the kitchen.
