Nanny Job in Winnipeg, Manitoba

I'm an
Individual
Our family is looking for a caring, creative and responsible (with a side of fabulous) nanny to help create a stimulating, nurturing and safe environment in our home two to three times a week for our 3-year-old daughter. Toddler and I live in Winnipeg 6 months out of the year. Currently, well be here until mid to end of December. Dad doesnt presently reside in Canada. Im self employed and mostly work from home. We're are laid back and easy going- as is toddler. Respect and accountability are just as important to us. We love to laugh, travel and talk; were creative and curious folks; and we value healthy and open communication. Toddler spends more time talking, smiling, socializing, discovering and dolling out hugs and kisses than she does crying. Our shared parenting style is Positive/Authoritative. Our management style in terms of our employer-employee relationship is a mix of consultative, democratic, chaotic, and participatory and laissez-faire. You must be reliable and have at least one year of experience in nanny, child care or au pair work with babies and toddlers. You must love children and be mature, reliable, trustworthy, punctual and engaging and value social equity and diversity. Love of dancing (more like art in general), lots of smiles and exploring are pluses! Your responsibilities will include: - Preparing and feeding meals and snacks (I'll likely prepare most meals in advance) - Creative Play with Toddler in/outdoors - Educational activities with her -Putting Toddler down for naps as needed - Reading to and with Toddler - Helping her in the bathroom (she's potty trained, but still requires some help) - Taking her to play dates or activity time -Bathing baby as required (for example, following a diaper accident or if we have an evening event) - Cleaning up and/or supervising cleanup in play spaces. No house work is included. Full job description available upon request. You will need a valid driver's license. Ideally a current First Aid certificate (can be obtained on the job) and Working with Children police check certificate. A background in education or nursing, including a certificate or degree in child care (or student enrolled in), education, nursing or other relevant field childcare will also be highly regarded. No smokers, please. We are willing to pay $11.65-$17 per hour for the right candidate depending on qualifications and/or experience. The hours are two days per week or two and a half days per week from 10 am -6 p.m. (1-5 p.m. half day) Tuesday-Thursday, depending on rate. There is some flexibility with the days/hours worked. The role is a live out job (accommodation and meals are not included). Our environment is for everyone regardless of gender/gender identity, race, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, religion or whatever. In keeping with that spirit, please dont use misogynistic, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, racist or any discriminatory language in our home. If you feel you are the right person for us, please email a resume and covering letter to Noma at [email protected].
