Nanny in Sarnia, Ontario

Hi There, My name is Madison and I just completed my 3rd year of schooling at the University of Guelph with a major in Psychology and a minor in Child, Youth and Family Studies. I am home in the Sarnia Lambton community for the summer and am looking to nanny part time for the months of May to August. I have a multitude of experience working with children and adolescents and am very comfortable working with children who have exceptionalities. I began babysitting when I was 12 and soon realized that working with children was my passion. From there, I began volunteering with Pathways Health Center for Children in 2012, which sparked my interest in working with children who face additional barriers to their everyday lives, and I gained a deep appreciation for their families. I have spent the last two summers working for Community Living as a Job Coach, where I was responsible for providing on the job training and assistance to persons with disabilities who require additional support upon gaining employment. While in Guelph, I work as a Tutor in the Classroom for the Wellington Catholic School board where I assisted students in the development of skills in the areas of numeracy and literacy. At the University I work as a research assistant for the Child Development Research Unit where we complete research studies to further the existing literature on children’s safety. I am happy to complete tasks and chores around the house and running errands. I have access to my own vehicle and am willing to drive the children to the various activities they may participate in. I am CPR and First Aide Trained and keep safety as well as the children’s physical and emotional health and main priority. I hope to create a fun, loving and playful atmosphere for your children with planned engaging and educational activities that match each child’s individual developmental levels. - References available upon request
