Nanny in Peterborough, Ontario

Hi, my name is Marieke (pronounced Marie-ka), I am 26 years old and I am hoping to connect with a family who is looking for a full-time Nanny for the summer. I have 10 years working with children in a variety of settings. I have 10 years of experience babysitting (days and overnights). I spent years working for the Municipality of Port Hope and the City of Peterborough as a camp team leader and doing programming for children and families. I have worked in child-minding, school settings, a daycare setting, and as a child and youth counsellor. I have also done pet and house sitting on many occasions and can offer multiple excellent references. I currently work for the Kawartha District School Board as a casual secretary but I am not needed while things are online. As a Nanny, my goal is not just to supervise your children but to provide them with engaging, inclusive, and typically educational activities, in a safe and positive way. I love to cook so I am happy to cook meals and offer a variety of nutritious snacks throughout the day. I encourage a healthy balance between outdoor and indoor play and offer a multitude of planned crafts, games, etc. I encourage healthy growth and skill development through play. I can also offer homework help (in both French and English, pet care (if needed), light cleaning, travel to and from activities (if needed), laundry, bathing and dressing, diaper changing, off location trips (example: the zoo), bedtime care, etc. I have my first aid and CRP training and I am comfortable with pets and water supervision. In camps, I often supervised children in and around the water. I am an energetic, extremely patient, positive, and friendly individual and I hope to find a family that is seeking just that for their little ones.
