Hello! My name is Denise Webb, I am a second year student attending St Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia, however, I am home to Ottawa for the summer months, May - August. At StFX I just completed my second year, as I am now half way through my Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition. My goal for after my undergrad is to complete a Bachelor of Education, specializing in the elementary years. In the town of Antigonish, I gained experience working with children, as I volunteered weekly, at a local daycare. The daycare has taught me patience and responsibility when it comes to children's needs, and I find I am a very confident worker with children, as I love to engage and learn from and with them, while maintaining a very positive attitude and atmosphere. I am a very motivated and enthusiastic individual, and I find that my outgoing and personable personality really allows myself to make connections with those around me, as well as makes myself very approachable. I enjoy literature (last good book I enjoyed: Khaled Hosseini, A Thousand Splendid Suns), music (favourite artist, anything country), outdoor activities (love the water!) as well as some indoor activities (LOVE a good board game, and/or game of cards!). Coming from a family with 5 siblings, I have definitely learnt how to to find the fun in any activity! Studying Human Nutrition truly gives me the skills to think critically, as well as the helpful and very useful knowledge in what exactly a healthy diet and lifestyle looks like for older and younger individuals. I find I have the confidence and stable comprehension to apply this knowledge in many different situations. Concerning availability, I am available full time between the months of May - August and have my own transportation.
