Nanny in Ottawa, Ontario

Hi there, My name is Alley (yes, spelt like the cat) and I am an almost 21 year old student attending Carleton University. I have lived in Ottawa for the past 10 years. Before that my family moved all over North America and we lived in places like Florida and North Carolina for the majority of my childhood. I am so happy to finally be settled in the beautiful city of Ottawa and getting to attend an amazing university. I am majoring in Communications and Media Studies and I am minoring in American Sign Language. Learning American Sign Language for the past 3 years has been a real eye opener to an entirely new community and culture. I have advanced enough that I can now effectively communicate and even begin to teach it to beginner level learners, including children. I have tutored school age children for 3 years and have helped students work through their homework. I have a high energy level and love to be silly and goofy and I believe this is why children and I get along so well. I am well versed in a variety of dad jokes and embarrassing mom dances moves. I have worked with children since I was 13, and have even gone as far as being one of the weekend managers at "A Gym Tale" which is a business catered to birthday parties, before and after school care, and nursery school. I had to maintain a high level of organization, communication skills, and problem solving abilities while keeping up a fun and spirited attitude for the children. I worked as hostess for children birthday parties on the weekends which entailed a high level of energy and structure at all times. I perform princess visits to various community events and birthday parties on a regular basis. I also worked with kids everyday after school which allowed me to really work on my routine and structural skills for kids on a daily basis. have a long list of people I have babysat for on a regular basis. During this past school year I began working an amazing job as a receptionist at a student counselling office. I work with youth and adults alike struggling with mental illness while completing their undergrad. I never imagined how much this job would impact me but it has and I am so entirely grateful for it. Emotions can be hard to handle and navigate even as adults so you can imagine how a child must feel. I now can handle high stress situations calmly and effectively while working along side my team. I want to team up with you as parents and really help your child(ren) in any way I can whether that be structuring a day of activities for them or helping them to better learn to cope with their emotions. I have taken care of children of all ages and am more then happy to care for younger and school age children all the same. I am also available to take care of pets, and your house work. I will say I am not an A gardener though, so I may not be the person you want to trust with that job. I do not have my own car but am going for my G license in the coming weeks and have never had a driving infraction so am more then willing and capable to drive a car of yours safely. I am ideally looking for a live out full time position through out the summer. I am available mid April until the end of August. I am located in Richmond (just outside of Barrhaven) but can get a drive or utilize public transportation to get to you. I would be able to best accommodate a schedule that would allow me to work generally Monday-Friday. I am available early in the morning to late evening. I am still available on weekends, however, I work as a princess on weekends so I would just need to be made aware in advance. I want to help you as best I can and I know providing care for your children in your absence can be expensive so I am not seeking to charge you and arm and a leg for my assistance.
