Nanny in Toronto, Ontario

I'm an
Individual
Hi There! I live in Toronto and would be happy to make some new little friends! I am a theatre artist (playwright/director/actor). In my work in the theatre, I have had the immense privilege to work with children and teenagers through workshops and plays. My work with kids began when I traveled to Bangalore, India, and taught at a school for underprivileged and orphaned children. I worked with kids aged 5 to 14, teaching English, Math, Shakespeare and Drama. Not only did I get to know these students on a teacher-student basis, but many of them found their way into my heart as I made regular visits to the orphanage in which many of them lived, and participated in after-school activities for students struggling with school, self-esteem or simply being a kid. This experience was so formative for me, I have found ways to work with children in my professional career. Most recently, I toured Ontario with a show about bullying. The show was extremely interactive, and I got to know each student and meet them on a personal level. The producers of the show also requested I teach a workshop on theatre and problem-solving to youth. I love to cook, don't mind housekeeping and love dogs and other pets. If you have any questions for me, ask! Eva

I started working with Eva when we worked together on a Youth Theatre show in early 2015. We worked with kids in Grade 5-12, and one thing was always consistent: kids are enamoured by Eva. They love talking with her, learning from her and simply being around her. I believe this boils down to one thing: Eva treats kids, no matter how old they are, with the utmost respect. Kids feel like they can open up to her (as many privately did, as we were working on a show about bullying), and feel like they are being listened to. This is not to say she has a problem taking authority, but it is different. She never needs to raise her voice or get flustered, because she creates an atmosphere that is warm, fun and open. I hired Eva to work as an Outreach Coordinator for my Acting Studio in Cabbagetown. She manages our team with grace and humour. She is reliable and self-motivated. She deals with many different kinds of people in our work together, and I have never heard a bad word uttered after an experience with her. I am grateful to call her a colleague.
