LOCATION: House 20 minutes West of Calgary REPORTING TO: Estate Manager The position of Private Nanny is an integral member of the team. This position is responsible for the childcare of the 3 children. The duties include, but are not limited to, the following: - Assisting parents with all aspects of the children’s care and development including watching over the children, feeding, hygiene, school work and other learning curriculum, managing computer time, etc; - Create an environment that will stimulate age appropriate learning, play, socialization, and emotional security; - Instilling good manners and a sense of responsibility, and discipline when necessary; - Ensure safety and well-being of children at all times; - Some light housework and cooking for the children including preparing grocery lists for child’s care and co-ordinate this with family and other support staff working in the home; - Transport children to and from various appointments and keeping detailed expense reports of personal expenses related to these business trips, if needed; - Provide backup support with the family pets including feeding, grooming and exercising, as required; - Provide backup support to the other staff in the home when convenient; and - Other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the safety, well-being, health and education of the children at all times, in accordance with the beliefs and parenting-style of the Shareholder, while at the same time ensuring the maximum freedom and flexibility for the parent’s personal schedules. The Private Nanny must: - Undergo a background check with successful result; - Have at least two (2) years’ experience in childcare; - Possess a current first aid and CPR certification; - Maintain a low profile and ensure everything read and heard in the line of duty is kept strictly confidential; - Be able to maintain all schedules and activities of all family members, the Shareholder and the Directors of the Company in the strictest confidence; - Be able to meet all physical requirements of the position; - Be adaptable, flexible and function effectively in a team environment; - Be willing to provide top priority services to the company, its Shareholder and his family; - Be available on short notice to meet the needs of the Shareholder, which includes working weekend and overnight shifts; - Preparing the children for school and periodically driving them to and from, as requested by the Shareholder; - Be willing to work the required hours to complete the responsibilities assigned; - Be able to travel locally, occasionally to the United States with the off chance of international travel, and must have valid passport and or travel visas; - Hold a valid driver’s license and a clear drivers’ abstract and take a collision course through AMA paid for by the company; - Provide a high-quality personal appearance at all times; and - Be willing to participate in extra projects, including but not limited to, family matters unrelated to the specifics of this job description.
