Description: We are devoted parents of two children, ages 3.5 years and 11 months. We consider ourselves attachment parents. Breastfeeding and co-sleeping are big in our family. I love my job as well and am heavily involved in my work. I am already working part-time with the help of grandparents for childcare. My partner is a business owner in a trade, which can be very demanding outside the home but also requires in-home paperwork after hours. We are looking for a childcare provider with a solid foundation in research based care. We love watching the children learn through play and we like to talk to our children and invite discussion, rather than demand obedience. While we of course set boundaries and expectations, we are more into guidance than discipline. Our three year old is sensitive and funny and very particular, using what we consider advanced language skills. We are free with affection in a way that respects our children's bodily autonomy. We are looking for a childcare provider whose approach to childcare matches ours and our children's. Duties: We are a dog family so we will need a caregiver who is comfortable with our sweet and softie doberman. Including firm boundaries. Because I intend to continue being hands on with my children and taking a slow start to returning to work, we will need a caregiver who can help share the domestic load in terms of groceries, housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation. We would like to see play based learning, crafts, outdoor activities, trips to the library and lots of reading, baking with the children, and ability to manage at nap time. We can share our van. The ideal nanny would have some relevant experience however it is not required to work with us as long as we share the same childcare philosophies of rational boundaries, gentle guidance and play based learning.
