My name is Mariana Torniero; I am a Brazilian student of Early Childhood Education at Seneca College. I have a bachelor degree in Social Communication and I am graduated in Graphic Design, both in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I am a student in training at ABC Academy Toronto Daycare in a pre-school setting (2.5 to 4 years old). As a student, I implement spontaneous and planned learning activities that help the children development. I also do regular tasks, like engaging in play time, prepare to naptime, help with lunchtime and snacks, change diapers and cleaning. Previously, I worked as a babysitter in London, UK. During my one-year experience there I took care after twin-boys, to 3 until their 4 years old. I used to pick them up after school, play and give dinner. Often, I also babysitter them overnight. The qualities that I most admire in children are that they are curious, open-minded and are not afraid to fail. When I am engaging with children I always try to bring about playful activities that help their development. It is really enjoyable experience to observe how children come up with creative responses. In my free time I like to study, do illustrations, biking and practicing yoga. For the past years I did art workshops that helped me to develop techniques and better understand creative process through visual art. For this reason, I really enjoy do art activities with children. I believe that children expressed themselves through art and it is enjoyable for me to be part of this experience. I have a certificated in Standard First Aid and CPR by the Canadian Red Cross.
