Nanny in Montreal, Quebec

Hi there, I'm Darby, a university graduate and artist currently residing in Montreal. I have diverse work experience (I currently work in an office) and am looking to come back to one of my greatest passions: childcare! In the past I have worked as a certified childcare development assistant for an out-of-school care program back in Alberta as well as babysat and tutored for families. Since then I have also worked as a cook and pride myself on my dinners. I also volunteered providing youth programming through Girl Guides of Canada for four years so I have a lot of experience making crafts, science experiments and playing playground games. Not to mention I am fluent in French! I have worked with a wide range of ages and children from all backgrounds and contexts, from 10-month-old twins to 4-year-olds that barely speak any English to 12-year-old boys and girls in large group activities. I love it all and enjoy encouraging growth from children from any situation and background. I pride myself on being patient but firm, loving and playful with the children I work with. I prefer to get outdoors and play than have your children play on screens. My philosophy of childcare centers around letting children be children, making space for the complicated emotions they feel and positive reinforcement. It is absolutely important to me that the families I work with and I are a good fit! A little more on me: I am a film photographer, I love to hike camp and travel, my degree was a double major in Anthropology and Scandinavian languages and literature, I live in the Plateau and do not currently have a drivers license (I am completing my courses and should have it end of December).
