Nanny in Oshawa, Ontario

Hello, my name is Lauren! I am twenty years old and I currently work full time at a store in north Oshawa, and have been doing so for almost the past two years. This has helped my relational skills with people to dramatically improve! (I used to be quite shy!) Starting at age thirteen, I have been a volunteer leader in children's clubs. I was a camp counselor for five summers in Peterborough, where I learned how to to lead around up to fifteen children aged 6-13 by myself throughout the day and entertain them/keep them in line. I was a lifeguard and swimming teacher for two years at more than one pool. I am still certified with my Standard First Aid. This gave me the opportunity to work with those who have ADHD, ADD, ODD, aspergers, autisim, and more. I have worked with toddlers in a nursery and also worked with Syrian refugees. I have had to be aware of children's different needs, like allergies (anaphylaxis) or medical conditions. I am a very creative and artistic minded person. I play piano and basic violin. I would love to teach your children how to play if you have a piano. :) As a silly child I would love to organize what I used to call 'celebrations' (I was only ten) where I would put together a bunch of activities and crafts for my younger sisters. I have always loved to entertain and I don't need much to do it-- I can transform anything into something exciting. I am almost always in a good mood, it is just how my personality is; I'm a very positive person. I am relaxed but at the same time I know to keep kids in line and to earn their trust and respect. I just returned from a trip in Thailand where I was certified for my Teaching English as a Foreign Language. We went to some public schools every weekday for two weeks and taught the children how to speak English from scratch. I am very excited to continue travelling, meet new people, and gain more experience with children! I can send you a copy of my police check and references upon request.
