Nanny in Edmonton, Alberta

I'm an
Individual
About Me: Hello, my name is Jodie. I currently work for an amazing family so am only looking for part time/casual work. As the parents work shift work I typically have two weeks off a month so I'm able to look after some more littles on my days off. I have a rough idea of my schedule for the rest of the year but get a confirmed schedule two months at a time s I have a good idea of what days ill be available. I have been very blessed to have worked and been welcomed into multiple families since I started childcare in 2015. I originate from the UK ( so prepare for the kids to develop a British accent) and moved to Canada as a live-in au pair for a little girl; I was with them for over two years until the mother was able to spend more time at home and didn't require as much help. My next family was three wonderful siblings, two girls and one boy - I was also with them for a little over two years and that position ended when I moved to Ontario as my then partner was in the military and we were posted. In Ontario, I looked after two siblings, a boy and a girl - and I was blessed to be with them for almost two years, that position ended when the youngest child went to school and they no longer required childcare during the day. I then moved to Medicine Hat and had the pleasure of looking after a brother and sister but I made the decision that I missed Edmonton and this is where I would like to permanently live. So that brings us to today with my current family! Additional: *I am a qualified personal support worker/ Health Care Aide, with experience working with people of all abilities so children with special needs are welcomed. *Most recent Vulnerable Sector Check (police check) was completed in June 2022. *First Aid & CPR/AED Level C certified - Valid until August 2024. What am I looking for? One of the main things I look for in a family is a harmonious and respectful relationship with the parents, I have been blessed to have long-term placements because we got along so well and that is what I am looking for moving forward. The types of families that I mesh well with are people who have a laid-back parenting style and have trust in me when I am taking care of their children. I am a firm believer in keeping children occupied going to parks, crafts, activities, baking etc but sometimes they just want a chilled-out movie day and that's totally fine with me. Additionally, I really love taking the children on special days out as treats, aka to a pumpkin patch, zoo, and museums...or even just to dollarama to buy crafts! I don't expect you to pay for this, this is something I just really enjoy doing with them and while this is absolutely not a deal breaker it would be the icing on the cake to find a family who would eventually be comfortable with me doing this. If you declare childcare costs for tax purposes ect then I can only work for families who pay via an official payroll system, I no longer work as an independent contractor and issue receipts. P.S I weirdly love doing laundry so I'm totally down if you need things washed and folded if the kids are napping! If you think I could potentially be the type of person you are looking for then I would look forward to speaking with you!
