My name is Lauren Flight. I just finished my first year at Dalhousie University and am majoring in biology. I’m originally from Ontario but moved to the East Coast to attend university. I'm CPR certified and bilingual in French and English. For the past four summers I have worked as a counselor at a toddler camp. There I supervised the children, arranged crafts, organized activities, served lunch, and maintained a clean environment for the children. The camp was mostly 10-15 toddlers with a ratio of 5 children for every staff member. Therefore, I’m used to working with many children at once and love it! Additionally, last summer I worked at Tim Hortons part-time as a Team Member. I worked in the store front with taking customers’ orders, serving their drinks, cleaning the storefront, and restocking shelves. There I was able to learn how to move quickly in a very fast paced environment and be able to handle many tasks at once. Since November, I have volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House where I entertain the children, clean the house, bake, and organize crafts. I love volunteering there since even though the children may be going through a lot, they are always full of energy and full of smiles. I got my first babysitting certification in 2009 and have been babysitting ever since. I have done babysitting on a regular or one time basis. I have two younger brothers, 5 and 18, so I am used to taking care of children and love doing it.
