About Me: Hi, my name is Artemis and I am looking for full or part time child care work. I have experience as the director of childcare services, and have worked as a nanny since 2011. I have looked after kids aged 6 months to 7 years and I have experience with twins aged 6 months to 2 years. My approach to child care is to create a safe, structured setting in which children can learn and have fun. I have studied developmental psychology and am aware of how crucial the first years are for brain plasticity and learning. With this in mind, I create educational games and crafts like writing and illustrating story books together with the kids. Having a solid routine is very important. I take care in planning the day, with direction from parents, and stick to the schedule. This way, the kids know what to expect and the days run very smoothly (usually!). Some fun activities include going to the park, reading books, singing songs and running around. I also enjoy teaching children to cook- picky eaters are more likely to eat something they helped to prepare!
